ADVOCACY
A STRONG VOICE
FOR THE INDUSTRY.
Monitoring the issues. Representing our members. Keeping you informed.

WHAT ADVOCACY MEANS FOR SEFA
WORKING FOR THE INDUSTRY--
BEFORE ISSUES BECOME PROBLEMS.
SEFA monitors legislative, regulatory and environmental issues that can affect textile-care businesses throughout the Southeast.
Working with DLI, industry partners and our members, we help identify emerging issues, communicate the industry's perspective to policymakers and regulators, and keep members informed about developments that could affect their businesses.
Sometimes that means taking action. Sometimes it means asking questions. And sometimes it means making sure we're paying attention before an issue reaches our states.
CURRENT ADVOCACY PRIORITIES
ISSUES WE'RE WORKING ON — AND WATCHING.
SEFA works to identify issues that could affect our members and the textile-care industry throughout the Southeast. Here are two issues currently receiving our attention.

ACTIVE INITIATIVE
FLORIDA DRYCLEANING
SOLVENT CLEANUP PROGRAM
SEFA is working to better understand the current status, funding, cleanup progress and long-term direction of Florida's Drycleaning Solvent Cleanup Program.
We are gathering questions and input from Florida drycleaners and will be requesting a meeting with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection later this month to begin a direct, fact-based conversation about the program and its future..
Our goal: Understand the facts. Improve transparency. Make sure the industry's voice is heard.

ISSUE WE ARE WATCHING
MICROFIBER FILTRATION &
LAUNDRY DISCHARGE
Legislation addressing microfiber pollution from laundry wastewater is beginning to emerge in other states, with potential implications for commercial laundry operations and textile-care businesses.
SEFA is monitoring these developments with DLI and industry partners so we can understand their potential impact and be prepared if similar proposals are introduced in the Southeast.
Watching today. Preparing for tomorrow.
HOW SEFA ADVOCATES FOR YOU
MONITOR. INFORM. REPRESENT. COLLABORATE.

MONITOR
Track legislative, regulatory and environmental developments affecting textile-care businesses.
INFORM
Keep members aware of important developments and explain what they could mean for their businesses.
REPRESENT
Communicate industry concerns and perspectives to legislators, regulators and policymakers.
COLLABORATE
Work with DLI, other associations and industry partners to strengthen our collective voice on issues affecting the industry.
HELP US STAY INFORMED
SEE AN ISSUE WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?
Legislative and regulatory issues often begin at the state or local level. If you become aware of proposed legislation, a regulatory change, an inspection trend or another issue that could affect textile-care businesses, we want to hear about it.
Your information can help SEFA identify emerging issues early and determine when our industry needs to get involved.
